A clash broke out between students and police at Midwestern University (MU) in Birendranagar. The students, who passed their law entrance examination and were protesting in front of the central office demanding admission. Police charged batons at the protestors for chanting loud slogans while Vice-Chancellor P.D. Nanda Bahadur Singh was being escorted inside the university gate.
Some students have been injured in the incident. According to student leader Roshan Basnet, police have arrested few students and Ani Bahadur Shahi, a former central member of the Nepali Union, who had gone to the protest site to show support for the students' movement.
