Residents of Thori Rural Municipality-2 in Parsa padlocked the Nirmal-Thori Intermediate Consumer Committee and the office of Banashakti Community Forest Committee on April 1 alleging the officials of the Chitwan National Park of obstructing the construction of the postal road. They further state that the contractor had left the road unattended after the park administration stopped the construction of the road.
Protestors urged the officials to take initiative to create an environment for road construction. Under the coordination of local Jagendra Poudel, locals have formed a struggle committee, to put pressure on road construction. Poudel said that a memorandum would be handed over to the village chairman on April 2 demanding the continuation of road construction.
