Businessmen closed their shops and blocked the road at the Bajni of the Birgunj-Pathlaiya in Jitpur of Bara for one hour to protest the delay and negligence in the road's construction as part of the trade route expansion project. The delay in the road construction affected the local's health and made their lives more difficult due to increased road dust.
Sanjay Sahal, president of the Municipal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, accused the construction company of creating the trouble despite repeated requests from stakeholders including the construction company, project office, chamber of commerce and area administration.
The locals had blocked the road for four hours on April 3 saying that there were smoke and dust in the houses in Bajni. The road in Jitpur was closed on April 4 under the leadership of Jitpur Simara Municipal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
