50-year-old, Gulshan Khatun, a woman from the Muslim community, of Manara Siswa Municipality-5, Kataiya, Mahottari was brutally beaten on the charge of witchcraft allegations. Khatun was beaten by the locals Jainuddin Ansari, Kalamuddin Ansari, Ejaz Ansari, Rumi Ansari, Sarfuddin Ansari and Mojibul Ansari.
The accused also beat Ghulam Ansari and Mustafa Ansari, the sons of the victim. All three victims were critically injured in the beating and are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Jaleshwor. Gulshan's head and face are swollen from the beating and bruises are visible all over her body.
