Police arrested Mahendra Yadav, chairperson of Bhokraha Narasimha rural municipality of Sunsari on the charge of raping a 17-year-old minor. He was arrested from a lodge in Dharan-4

He is accused of taking the 17-year-old from Itahari to the hotel and raping her by luring her with a job offer. Dharan police raided the hotel after receiving information that he had reached the hotel in a government vehicle. Despite intense pressure to release him, Dharan police have kept Yadav under control.
