A week-long prohibitory order is imposed in Palpa to prevent and control the pandemic of Covid-19 with a new variant. A meeting of the District Covid Crisis Management Center on April 28 took the decision to enforce the order from  April 30 to May 7.

No one will be allowed to leave the house except for medical treatment and urgent work during the injunction period. Ambulances, fire engines, hearses, essential food items and poultry, milk, fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, water, gas, petroleum products, industrial raw materials, medical and health workers, medicine, and health supplies Vehicles used for work will be allowed to operate.

Public and private vehicles will not be allowed to operate. Vehicles going to other districts through the Palpa district will not be allowed to pick up or drop off passengers at any place in Palpa. Food stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. No other type of shop will be allowed to open. The pharmacy will be open 24 hours a day. He said that all kinds of services provided by the government and non-government offices and agencies will be shut down except the services provided by health, security, communication, electricity, drinking water, fire brigade, banks, and financial institutions.

If anyone violates the order, action will be taken under the Infectious Diseases Act 2020 and the Local Administration Act 2028. The number of corona cases in Palpa has reached 2,220. Of these, 198 are actively infected and thirty-nine people have lost their lives.
