Rajaullah Shesh alias Tahir, a 35-year-old resident of Mahottari's Balwa municipality ward no.11, is accused of raping a 20-year-old girl with speech and physical disabilities on May 9. After the incident of rape became public, some village leaders put pressure on the victim's family to settle the incident in the village. However, the accused has absconded after the victim's family members lodged a complaint against him on May 12.
The accused works as a tractor driver and used to deliver food to people's homes. He had arrived at the victim's residence to collect the transportation fare and raped the girl while no one else was present, taking advantage of her inability to talk or walk properly.
