On the basis of a special tip-off, police arrested three persons from Lalitpur on the charge of black-marketing oxygen cylinders from the premises of Patan Hospital on May 18. According to police, they used to charge up to Rs 41,000 for an oxygen cylinder.
The arrested are identified as 42-year-olds Ram Sharan Ghimire of Dhading Galchi Municipalit and Nawaraj Khanal of Hetauda Sub-Metropolis and 39-year-old Ram Krishna Ghimire of Bidur Municipality, Nuwakot . Police recovered an oxygen cylinder from them.
There has been a shortage of oxygen in Nepal recently due to the increase in coronavirus infection. Plants and industries have been filling oxygen in four hundred to seven hundred cylinders in the market.
