Police intervened and registered a case of attempted gang rape in Saptari. A 17-year-old girl was gang-raped in the Sabaila municipality. After the incident became public, some local leaders had put pressure on the victim’s side to settle the case in the village. According to the victim, three youths from Sabaila municipality-12, Raghunathpur, had taken a video after attempting to rape her on May 26. The victim’s side had lodged a complaint against 18-year-old Raju Paswan, 19-year-old Jitendra Paswan, and 20-year-old Ajit Paswan, on May 27 at the Area Police office, Sabaila. Police are searching for the absconded accused.
