Complaint of assault filed against police in Khotang

A complaint has been filed with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against police constable Bimal Karki of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality-5, Chisapani Ghorle, saying that he assaulted 28-year-old Kiran Rai of Jantedhunga Village Municipality-5, Chisapani Ghorle.
Dilip Kumar Rai, Kiran's father lodged the complaint on May 30. The complaint states that Kiran was arrested on May 27 over a dispute with his relatives and was beaten by the police constable. Kiran has sustained bruises on his feet and ankles due to the beating. After reconciling with the relatives, Kiran's family has lodged a complaint with the commission against the police.
