Morang youths stage symbolic protest against the municipality

Province 1, Morang, Belbari

The youths of Belbari staged a symbolic protest by hanging the placards on the goat's neck at the gate of Belbari Municipality in Morang on June 14 as the municipality deceived them by distributing goats from Nawalparasi, by violating the condition to provide full boar goats/goats from Australia.

The municipality brought Boer goats from Nawalparasi saying that it was imported from Australia. It has been found that the municipality has distributed 92 Boer goats brought from Nawalparasi to 44 different farms and some farmers as 'full blood' goats imported from Australia on May 29.

The municipality has formed an investigation committee under the coordination of Deputy Chief Dhaka Kumari Parajuli. It is said that action will be taken after the committee submits the report.

The Federation of Nepalese Commercial Goat Breeders has stated that the farmers of Belbari have been cheated due to the mischief of the contractor and Belbari Municipality. According to FNCCI Central President Premsagar Poudel, there is extreme misuse of state funds and injustice has been done to farmers.
