The faculty, junior residents, and students of BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan stage a protest rally on June 15 in front of the Vice Chancellor's Office after a doctor was asked to explain the irregularities at the institute. Vice-Chancellor of the Foundation Dr. Gyanendra Giri had allegedly asked Dr. Bishnu Pokhrel, Chairman of the Medical and Dental Teaching Welfare Society, for an explanation on June 13.
Protestors started agitation saying that the institution has asked for an explanation to take action against the person who raised their voice about the irregularities and betrayal. They announced to hold protest meetings and rallies on a daily basis from 8 am until the Vice-Chancellor withdraws the task of asking for an explanation and apologizes.
A few days ago, the faculty chairman Dr. Pokhrel had called on the head of the authority on social media to put pressure on the head of the authority by SMS and phone to take action against the mafia that was destroying the BP academy and the private medical college. Regarding the same issue, the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Giri has sent a letter to submit an explanation within three days saying that he has acted against the code of conduct mentioned in the rules of procedure of the foundation.
