Dalit Women's Association Kaski and Awaaj stage a peaceful protest at Manawadhikar Chowk in Pokhara on June 27 against the incident of untouchability and caste discrimination against Rupa Sunar. According to the protesters, the recent incident of caste discrimination against Rupa Sunar in Kathmandu and the rescue of the accused by Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha has raised the finger on the state's attitude towards the Dalit community.

Participants in the demonstration chanted 'Silent question to the guardian of caste system', by carrying placards. The protestors said that the state and educated people are with the caste discrimination that has been going on for generations.
