Bank employees in Itahari staged a demonstration demanding that the social security fund should either ensure that the benefits they are currently receiving are not reduced or make arrangements for voluntary affiliation. They chanted slogans such as 'Reject social security fund, no coercion, repeal employee protection fund, fulfill our demand'. Speakers at the corner meeting held after the demonstration warned that they would intensify the agitation if their demands were not met.
