An Indian SSB allegedly assaulted Gautam Dulal, a Nepali youth of Gaur Municipality-5, who was on his way to Bairgania from Gaur. He was beaten at the Gaur Bairgania Miteri Bridge, the main gate of Rautahat.
Even in the Indian part of the border area, the SSB asked public to not use the direct route and forced them to move from the lower part. But at the same time, the locals are alleging that the Nepali youth who was going to India for shopping was beaten by the Indian SSB. The injured youth is undergoing treatment at Gaur Hospital, according to police.
The Gaur Bargania main road, is closed for the past one and a half years due to the Corona pademic. Even though the Gaur Bairgania checkpoint was blocked, the general public used to cross the road illegally. But it was reopened for pedestrian movement three days ago after the Indian SSB forced people to choose the main road due to waterlogging in the area due to rains and floods on July 5.
