Graveling work has been halted in Mahadeva Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 of Saptari after clashes broke out between the locals and the Consumers' Committee officials.  When the Consumers' Committee tried to lay gravel on the Koshi West Canal, locals obstructed the work saying that it should be done on the muddy roads in the village. The work has been stopped until there is an agreement between the officials of the consumer committee and the locals.
