Five-party opposition alliance stage symbolic protest against petrol price hike

Students' organizations of the opposition alliance staged a symbolic protest against the increase in the price of petroleum products by blowing conch shells on July 11 at Maitighar. Nepal Students Union, ANNFSU (Revolutionary), ANNFSU near Madhav Kumar Nepal, Socialist Students Union near Upendra Yadav of JSP and Akhil XI of Rashtriya Janamorcha jointly staged the protest.

Student organizations announced a phased agitation against the price hike. They will not allow the vehicles of the Nepal Oil Corporation to run on July 12, not allow the organizations transporting and selling petroleum to operate petrol pumps and tankers on July 13 and closing all petrol pumps and tankers across the country on July 14. Five student organizations have been protesting demanding the restoration of the dissolved parliament, problems in the SEE and Class 12 examinations, and problems in the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
