Nepal Teachers Federation staged a three-hour sit-in in uniform prescribed by the government Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu on July 23. The teachers' federation is in the movement demanding 14 percent increase in the salaries of primary school teachers and school staff, investment of 20 percent of the total budget by the state for quality education, promulgation of the National Education Act and change in the constitutional system.
