Police arrested Gopal Sarki, a 41-year-old resident of Ranukhana in Dullu Municipality-8 on July 19 on the charge of beating his 71-year-old mother Chandrakala Sarki. He was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim accusing him of assaulting her on July 18 after refusing to give her social security. According to Dr Ranjana Rokay of Dullu Hospital, the victim sustained injuries in her mouth and back.
