Ayurveda students of Dhulikhel stage protest against the college for stopping their studies

Students of Patanjali Ayurveda Medical College and Research Center in Dhulikhel stage a protest after the college stopped their studies saying that they had not paid the fees. Ninety students studying in the first, third and fourth batches of Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery have been agitated after the virtual medium education was stopped from July 16.

Rupesh Thakur, a fourth-year student, informed that a sit-in was held at the central office of the college in Dhulikhel Municipality, District Administration Office, Kavre, demanding smooth teaching and learning. It is alleged that Shalikram Singh, the patron of Patanjali Yogpeeth Nepal, refused to meet the student and arrested him.

The college claims that the students have not paid the prescribed fee for the past 7-8 months even though it has been decided to pay the prescribed fee of Rs 1.5 million in four instalments. The administration stated that the salaries of 29 teachers and staff of the college have been withheld for August due to non-payment of fees by the students.
