Youth organize symbolic protest against extraction of riverine materials in Kaligandaki

Different groups are raising their voice against the illegal extraction of riverine materials in the Kaligandaki river. These days, youth have resorted to more creative forms of protest using social media. A movement named 'Save Kaligandaki campaign" have made an appeal to individuals to submit poems related to Kaligandaki protection. The campaigner Adipta Giri mentioned that the poem should address the negative implications of  Kaligandaki Diversion Project and illegal extraction happening in Kaligandaki since few decades. 

They also mentioned about their plan of organizing a march from Muktinath to Nawalpur, after Covid crisis de-escalates. Also other program like intellectual discussions about Kaligandki protect is on the pipeline. The crusher factories on the banks of the Kaligandaki river are extracting riverine materials from the river beds at midnight, though the law doesn't permit them to do so, during three months of rainy season.
