Locals of Maliwada have staged a sit-in protest at Bhittamod in Mahottari district on Friday demanding ease of movement at the border checkpoint. Due to the Covid-19, people have been barred from crossing the Nepal-India border for a long time, but freight trucks and heavy vehicles have been moving freely. They have also demanded that the road be opened to the public. Demonstrations have been staged demanding that the road should be diverted from the main road as there is an obligation to use the road of Dashgaja's farm Ali, even though the movement of all the roads has been stopped. The road to Khetali has become muddy during the rainy season. Hundreds of citizens pass through that road every day. The protestors have also warned of going for agitation if the movement at the border is not eased immediately.
