Local residents staged a demonstration in Kathmandu on September 20, demanding immediate implementation of the Budhigandaki Hydro-power project because of the increasing risk of flood. Project affected people complained that no work has been done in the project for the last two years, their houses, cowsheds, plants have not been compensated and rehabilitation work has not been done. The demonstrators suggested that the project should run immediately by fulfilling the legitimate demands rather than doing politics.
