The sustainable mountain tourism network staged a demonstration in Kathmandu pressuring the government to protect the mountain tourism sector and to make it sustainable as well as dignified. The protestors staged a silent demonstration along with displaying placards in favour of the tourism business, labourers and for the initiation of the government to mitigate the problems in the tourism sector on the occasion of World Tourism Day in Thamel. The press release mentions the need for attention of the media, stakeholders and labourers related to mountain tourism and to fulfil the demands of the guide. According to the guide and trainer, Jayanath Bhandari, the regulation to take the guide while visiting above 500m sea level should be mandatory which will stop the guides from going unemployed, likewise, the government should take the initiative to remove Nepal from COVID-19 'Red Zone'.
