The school management committee and parents padlocked the Kalika Rural Municipality Education Branch in Rasuwa, stating that the contract for the teaching positions at Grang Basic School in Kalika Rural Municipality-1 had not yet been signed. Protesters stated that they will not open the lock until contracts for teachers' posts are issued. They also demanded that all positions up to and including the basic level be filled within three days.
Since the last academic session, the school was already upgraded from primary to elementary level. For the past four months, the school has had only three teachers. The school, which had been closed due to the Corona pandemic, has now reopened. Even though the school has been open for a while, the students are having difficulties due to a lack of teachers.
