School assistants and child development facilitators working in schools under Rajdevi Municipality of Rautahat district staged a protest against the mayor on September 30 over the non-payment of the amount announced by the government of Nepal. Savitri Yadav, the coordinator of the struggle committee, said that the protest was staged by picketing the municipality as per the previously announced program.
The school assistants have been victimized due to the reluctance of the municipalities to pay the amount as per the announcement. The agitating teachers also reached the gate of the municipality and chanted slogans including placards with slogans such as "Pay the increased salary, fulfil our demand".
