A 35-year-old woman from Mahottari's Bhangha Municipality-2 Bakhari died in suspicious circumstances. On September 29th, when she was sleeping at home, two youths whisked her away on an unidentifiable motorcycle. According to her family, the accused left her in an unconscious state at her home after around two hours.
On September 30, the woman was treated by her family in the village. She was transferred to Janakpurdham Provincial Hospital the same day after she did not regain the consciousness, but she died while receiving treatment, according to police. The woman's family alleges she died as a result of gang rape. The incident appeared suspicious, according to Mahottari police spokesperson DSP Prakash Bista. Due to injuries on the outside of the corpse, he believed the death is suspicious. The youths who abducted the woman on a motorcycle have been identified, according to DSP Bista, and are being searched.
