A woman has been gang-raped in Itahari. In Itahari-8, Bhurki, a group of six people took a woman to a paddy field at 7 pm on October 1 and raped her.
After the gang-rape, they looted her gold chain and Rs 3,000 in cash and fled. According to DSP Arjun KC of the Area Police Office, Itahari, the 30-year-old woman was attacked by a group of men in the evening walk. According to the police, the victim sustained injuries on her face and various parts of her body.
Based on the victim's complaint, the police had searched for the perpetrators. Four of the six involved in the incident are under 18 years of age and have not been made public by the police.
Sunil Chaudhary, 27, of Itahari-16 involved in the incident has been made public by the police. DSP KC of Area Police Office Itahari informed that search for the remaining one is underway.
The Sunsari District Court has extended the investigation against them by extending the period for five days under the Code of Criminal Procedure 2074 BS.
