2021-10-05

Madhes, Dhanusha, Janakpur

Squatters have picketed the office of Province 2 Chief Minister on Tuesday, claiming that the non-squatters encroached on their land. The squatters have demanded the state government to provide them land for settlement.

They have demanded to investigate the land ownership document of the land distributed to the squatters by the squatters commission since 2054 BS and to transfer the land from fake landless squatters to real squatters who do not have any land. Sunil Kumar Yadav, the National Coordinator of the Chure and Forest Conservation Campaign, said that the non-squatters got the title deed of the land given to them by the government and the land should be returned to the squatters immediately. He said that the government should bring out the truth by investigating how the non-squatters got the land ownership documents of the squatters' land.
