Janamat party stage demonstration with bamboo sticks demanding release of their arrested cadres

The Janamat Party staged a protest demanding the release of the cadres arrested on the charge of abusing the acting head of the Janakpur office of the Federal Drinking Water and Sewerage Management Project. Activists of the Janmat Party led by CK Raut had publically assaulted the acting chief of the Drinking Water Office Rajesh Kushwaha in the office by making him half-naked. Police had arrested 17 people in the incident. Raut's party staged a protest in Janakpur on October 22 demanding the release of their cadres.

Police are conducting further investigation into the cases of c harassment against those arrested. Central member of the party Birendra Mahato, Dhanusha president Om Vikram Kushwaha, Sarlahi district member Duryodhan Yadav, Prem Kishore Yadav and student union president Vijay Yadav are in police custody.

Similarly, leaders Sanjay Pradhan, Dhaniklal Kapar, Bikram Kumar Sah, Kailash Prasad Sah, Dinesh Rajak Safi, Ramkaran Yadav, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Sanjay Sah, Mahesh Kumar Yadav, Amarnath Sah and Sundar Mandal are also under police control. The Janamat Party had gathered cadres from Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Bara, Siraha and Saptari villages to participate in the demonstration. Most of the participants had participated in the demonstration carrying bamboo sticks in their hands. The local administration had also tightened security.
