Chand led CPN (Biplav) stage a protest in Kawasoti by blocking the traffic in Kawasoti on Mahendra Highway on November 14. Biplav cadres took to the highway and chanted slogans demanding withdrawal of the price hike. During an hour-long demonstration, they chanted anti-government slogans. Hundreds of long and short distance vehicles were blocked on the road for hours due to the protest.
Students' organizations affiliated with six political parties, including the ruling coalition, have also protested in Kathmandu against the fuel price hike. They have demonstrated by carrying empty gas cylinders on their heads.
