RAUTAHAT, Nov 15: The bodies of two children, who died suspiciously, are being displayed in a protest at Garuda Chowk in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-5 of Rautahat. Demonstrations are taking place in Garuda Bazaar, which is part of the highway section connected to Gaur-Chandranigahapur. Five-year-old Akash Mukhiya and four-year-old Bikas Mukhiya, sons of Sanjay Mukhiya of Tikulia Tole in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-5 died at the Terai Hospital in Birgunj while undergoing treatment.
The victims’ family and their relatives have been protesting saying that the children were killed by someone by poisoning them. Demonstrators have demanded an investigation into the incident, book the culprit involved and provide the family with compensation.
The bodies of the two children have been autopsied at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj. The report is yet to come. Rautahat District Police Chief SP Binod Ghimire said that the investigation into the incident is currently underway.
