Rights activists have staged a sit-in at the administration demanding the arrest of former lawmaker Badshah Kurmi in the Nirmala Kurmi case in Banke. Rights activists staged a sit-in at the District Administration Office, Banke, saying that the administration has protected the main accused Kurmi.
Human rights activist Khan said that the activists had to sit-in demanding justice as the administration protected the main accused Kurmi. The protesting women rights activists carried placards with photos of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister and demanded to use the pen for justice.
The District Police Office, Banke said that seven persons involved in the incident have been arrested and there is no legal basis to arrest Badshah. He has already given a statement saying that he has been released on bail and the police have been saying that he should not be arrested.
