Students of Judda Higher Secondary School of Gaur, Rautahat vandalized and torched the school's property against the fees that have been taken by the school. The students claimed that the public school is not allowed to charge fees under any pretext even up to secondary level. The school has been charging a monthly fee, admission fee, examination fee and textbook fee to the students studying in English medium students and the Nepali medium students can study free of cost. On November 15, students also vandalized drinking water tanks in the school. Even though the Gaur Municipal Office wrote a letter not to collect the fee under any pretext, Juddha secondary school has not complied.
Ravi Mishara, ANNSFU's central member said that the school administration has not considered the request not to charge fees to the students. And due to this many economically, backward students are not able to get books to study. Principal Chandeshwor Raut said that due to the high number of students and shortage of teachers, the school conducted English medium classes on its own and charged Rs 300 to Rs 700 per month.
