Hindu Society-Parsa together with other Hindu-related organizations demonstrated at the streets of Birgunj on November 16 condemning the attack on Hindus by Muslims while celebrating the Chhath festival in Dhanusa, Bara, and other districts. The protestors demanded the resignation of the chief minister of Province 2 Lal Babu Raut.
The demonstration that started from Lal Bangla went around different places of Birgunj including Ghanta Ghar, Maisthan, Adarshanagar, Chhapkaiya before converting into a mass assembly at Ghantaghar Chowk. The speakers in the program condemned those Muslim offenders with a Jihadi mindset over Hindus and demanded strong punishment for them. The district president of the World Hindu Council, Om Prakash Shah blamed the chief minister of Province 2 for the attack on Hindus. Likewise the district leader of the Nepali Congress, Dharmendra Patel warned that no attackers would be left unpunished.
