Sudurpashchim, Baitadi, Patan, Ward 6
The highway length workers started a relay hunger strike for the second time at Patan-Panchesor Road Section in Baitdai from November 17 demanding the payment of their salaries which has not been paid for the past 2 years and a guarantee of their job. The road was obstructed since the morning of November 20 due to the strike at Patan municipality-6, Larkhe. The area police office deployed a team to open the road and monitor the protest says, Inspector Rajesh Shahi.
The length workers had organized 21 days relay hunger strike last July with the same demands but cancelled it after getting promises from Chief minister Trilochan Bhatta to fulfil the demands. The length workers are not getting salary since the fiscal year 2018/19 after the responsibility of Patan-Panchesor road was handed over to the Provincial government from the Federal government.
