Students of the Institute of Engineering Studies stage a protest alleging that there was non-academic work in the examination. The students stated that they have started agitation against the negligence in the preparation of question papers in the Fluid Mechanic Examination conducted by the Civil Engineering Department on September 16. The students peacefully staged a one-hour sit-in in front of the dean's office on November 22. The protesting students along with the class representatives met the dean of the institute Shashidhar Ram Joshi and handed over the memorandum.
A professor at Pulchowk Institute of Engineering Studies has resigned, taking moral responsibility for alleged non-academic conduct in the examination. Professor Dr Durga Prasad Sangraula of the Civil Engineering Department of the institute has said that he has resigned after the repeated verbal and written warnings to the responsible body of the institute concerning the negligence of the examination department in preparing the question papers.
