Nepal Valuers Association-Lumbini Province Committee stage sit-in protest at Milan Chowk-Butwal, in front of Kumari Bank demanding the release of Rajesh Kumar Chaurasiya, who is an engineer at the Birgunj sub-metropolitan office. The Central Investigation Bureau arrested Chaurasiya on the charge of verifying fraudulent land documents from the ward office to get the loan of 17 crore Nepali rupees. Nepal Engineers Association mentioned the act to be a conspiracy and called Chaurasiya not guilty stating that the valuation of the land was based on the documents provided by the bank.
The participants of the protest carried placards that read slogans like 'Fix the process of valuation', 'Engineers don't verify the land certificates', 'Repeal the banking crime charged on engineer', 'Stop allegedly placing engineers in black list'. There were around 30 members present at the protest.
