Province 1, Sunsari, Inaruwa
The students of Mahendra Bahumukhi Campus in Dharan have become agitated despite the decision of the Land Reform and Revenue Office in Inaruwa of Sunsari to transfer the land worth around Rs 450 million to "Mohi" (land tenants). Students set fire to the chair of the campus chief Damodar Bhandari on December 6, saying the campus administration had failed to protect their land. The students broke the lock of the locked entrance of the Bhandari's office and took out a chair and set it on fire.
Student cadres of Nepal Students Union, ANNFSU, ANNFSU (Revolutionary), Samajwadi Vidyarthi and Federal Limbuwan Manch formed a struggle committee to protect the land of the campus. Student leader Budros Limbu said that the campus administration had accepted the date of the court hearing via their representative and had not sent a lawyer even after the three-time hearing was scheduled. He accused the campus administration, people's representatives and the land mafia of collusion.
The land owned by the campus at Swastik Chowk in Dharan-11 has been in dispute for a long time. The land in the name of Shyam Govind Shrestha of Dharan was transferred to Mahendra Bahumukhi Campus in 1934 BS.
