36-year-old Khuma Gharti of Bansgadhi in Rupandehi's Sainamina municipality ward no. 8 was killed in a khukuri attack by her own 38-year-old husband Sant Bahadur Khatri. Khuma, who had come to her sister Goma Thapa's house at Butwal 11, was killed by her husband. Sant Bahadur had stabbed Khuma in the neck at her sister's house at around 11:30 am on December 10.
Khuma, who was critically injured in the Khukuri attack, was rushed to Lumbini Regional Hospital, Butwal for treatment but died at around 12:30 pm, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Poudel. Her husband Sant Bahadur is absconding after attacking his wife with a khukuri.
