A group protesting against the death of a businessman has set fire to a police vehicle in Sarlahi. The protesters set fire to a jeep (Ba 1 Jha 7482) at the Ishwarpur Municipal Office premises. Most part of the vehicle have been burnt due to the fire. Police spokesperson, DSP Madhav Prashad Budhathoki informed that police fired few rounds of tear gas to scatter the violent protestors. According to him, the fire has caused a loss of Rs 500,000. The van, which was on patrol at the Area Police Office, Keshargunj, hit Ishwarpur Municipality-7 at around 9 pm on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Ram Kumar Mahato, a businessman of Ishwarpur Municipality-5. Police said that Mahato's motorcycle collided with a police van while overtaking the truck. The protesters have been protesting since morning, accusing the police of hiding the incident during the night.
