The landless squatters have staged a demonstration in Kathmandu demanding the distribution of land ownership documents on the basis of residency. On Monday, under the leadership of the United National Squatters Front Nepal, they staged a demonstration with various slogans from Maitigharmandala in Kathmandu to Bijuli Bazaar.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman  of the Front, Kumar Karki said that they have put pressure on the concerned bodies to manage them permanent settlement and distribute land ownership documents on the basis of residency.

He said that they had drawn the attention of the government's attention towards its act of demolishing squatters' settlement. Chairman Karki also warned that if the government does not address the problem of squatters immediately, there will be nationwide protests.
