Consumers stage symbolic demonstration against petroleum price hike before Chief Minister's office in Biratnagar

Consumers staged a symbolic demonstration in Biratnagar on May 24, by placing empty LPG cylinders in front of the office of the Chief Minister of Province 1 against the hike of prices of petroleum products. Uttam Dhungel, chairman of the Consumer Public Forum, said that the demonstration was staged after the general public was tormented by the continuous price hike. He said that the state government remained silent while the federal government was increasing the prices of petroleum products. During the protest, the locals also demanded an immediate repeal of the price hike.
