Roshan Gupta, a man of Garud municipality-5, physically assaulted her 24-year-old wife Priya Darshani Gupta, on June 11, for not bringing a car as a dowry. The wife's side alleged that they gave the groom total of Rs. 30 lakhs Indian cash as a dowry. But rather the victim was kept inside the room and she was assaulted multiple times. According to the victim, the husband Roshan Gupta, father-in-law Jayalal, mother-in-law Indra Devi, and sister-in-law Renu started to psychologically torture her. 

The victim lodged the complaint against the husband Roshan Gupta, father-in-law Jayalal, mother-in-law Indra Devi, and sister-in-law Renu three months ago and police arrested her sister-in-law. The victim alleged that 22 days after their marriage, her husband started to pressurize her to get a car and she used to tell him that they could not afford it immediately. And they further added that they used held her hostage for one week and didn't give her anything to eat as well. The victim said that her material's home side rescued her after eight months.
