Twelve police were injured in a clash between the police and the demonstrators in Mangalsen of Achham on July 4. The demonstrators pelted stones at the government attorney's office and the District court of Achham.
The demonstrators were agitated after Binod Shahi a 15-year-old teenage boy went missing on May 31 when a clash ensued between the cadres of the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML over a violent incident that occurred during the local election voting day (May 13). He was found dead five days later. Police fired 12 rounds of tear gas to mitigate the tension between police and the demonstrators.
