Locals of Siraha staged a demonstration on July 5 after a 14-year-old teenage girl of Mirchaiya municipality-1, committed suicide after she was gang-raped by two youths. The demonstrators demanded to take legal action against the two accused 20-year-old Bimalesh Mahara and 24-year-old Shatis Safi who gang-raped the victim on July 4. The demonstrators alleged that the accused abetted the victim to suicide. The demonstrators warned not to receive the dead body of the victim until and unless the accused were arrested.
