Family members of a 14-year-old girl filed a complainte against Bhuwan Singh Ghalan, Ward chairperson of Kailash rural municipality-9 of Makawanpur district accusing the later of trying to rape her. The girl's family filed the complaint at the district police office on July 8.
She was taking part in long jump event in the running shield representing her school. To participate in the event scheduled for July 3, she had stayed at Asan Guest House of Jaruwatol, Hetauda on the night of July 2. "The accused ward chairperson barged into the room around 12:30 midnight, abused two of her friends in the room and attempted to rape her", the statement of complaint reads as per the police.
Ghalan was elected as ward chairperson from Nepali Congress. The the rural municipality committee of Nepali Congress, however organized a press meet and blamed the oppositions for trying to frame Ghalan to revenge their loss.
