A 21-year-old woman lodged a complaint against 38-year-old man Ramchalitar Mahato, the Deputy Mayor of Lahan municipality, resident of Lahan municipality-2 on the charge of attempt to rape. According to the victim, the accused attempted to rape her on July 21 by enticing her with the offer of a job at the municipality. The victim further explained that the imminent death threats she was receiving prevented her from lodging the complaint against him sooner.
