The Office Assistant of Birgunj Customs Office, Bam Bahadur Bisankhe was assaulted by police personnel on duty around 11 pm on August 8. The customs office closes the barrier at 10 pm each day. However that day, a group of 4-5 people came claiming themselves to be police in civil uniform and assaulted the office assistant. 

The office assistant filed complaint to higher authorities of the customs office and asked to look at CCTV footage for the proofs, other than marks of injuries on his hand, back and face. The customs office have decided to send the complaint to District Administration Office and District Police Office to take actions against the assaulting party.
