34-year-old Meena Kumari Sarki of Gurbhakot Municipality-14 in Surkhet, a victim of domestic violence, filed a complaint against her 36-year-old husband Bhimraj Sarki, of Chinchu on August 7.  Meena's sister Lakshmi Bayalkoti informed that Meena sustained serious injuries after her husband poured hot water over her body during a dispute on August 6. She first underwent treatment at Mehalkuna Hospital, and was later referred to Karnali Provincial Hospital in Birendranagar. According to the police, the victim had lodged a complaint saying that her husband tried to kill her. Further investigation is underway.
